Block I Practicum
In the fall of 2018, I was fortunate to spend 90 hours in Mrs. Elsie Sheldon's 4th grade classroom at Grimsrud Elementary School, practicing daily management of the classroom, engaging with students and other teachers, and creating and teaching lesson plans. During this time, I taught 6 ELA lessons and 1 art lesson (please keep scrolling to view lesson plans). I was evaluated by my practicum supervisor, Mrs. Sheila Hager.

Biographies and Dialogue Lesson
In this lesson, students used the information I had taught them about biographies the day prior, to analyze biographies of both Oprah Winfrey and Michael Jackson. Then, the students learned about what dialogue is, and they used the information they collected from the biographies to write an interview between Oprah and Michael Jackson.

Mosaics Art Lesson
In this lesson, students learned about mosaics from around the world while analyzing the art elements of shape and pattern. Students then worked to identify the elements of geometry that they were learning about in math. They created mosaics that represented something important to them by tearing and gluing construction paper.

Artifact Slideshow
Fall 2018
I was a project leader, breakfast server and bus coordinator for the Day of Service. This helped me cultivate my leadership skills by being responsible for contacting organizations and students, organizing the bus schedule, and setting up for the day of service.
