Knowing this man has taught me to embrace diversity, educate myself about it, and do whatever I can to be a culturally-responsive teacher.
My family has taught me the meaning of unconditional love and support, and I hope to show this to my future students.
Because of my own history of physical and mental illness, I now help mentor others who have been diagnosed with celiac disease or gluten sensitivity. I am empathetic and an advocate for students who may be dealing with illness, food allergies, or anxiety and depression themselves.
